Spier Wine Farm Appoints IMAGINE PR as North American Public Relations Agency

New York, NY — October 9, 2024 — IMAGINE PR has been appointed as the North American Public Relations Representative for Spier Wine Farm and the new Spier Hotel, set to open in February 2025.

Established in Stellenbosch, South Africa in 1692, the family-owned Spier Wine Farm is one of the country’s oldest wine estates, brought to life by the Enthoven family in 1993. Currently the love child of Mariota Enthoven and her husband, Farmer Angus, Spier has transformed over the centuries into a prominent destination known for its commitment to quality wine production and sustainable practices. The farm has undergone significant restoration of its historic Cape Dutch buildings, preserving its rich heritage while integrating modern innovations. Today, Spier is recognized for its dedication to ethical farming and environmental stewardship and the wine farm’s role as a cultural hub featuring an extensive collection of contemporary South African art.

Opening in 2025, the completely rebuilt Spier Hotel will offer an immersive place of peace and connection. The hotel will feature 80 rooms in a village-style layout and three spacious villas in the country’s world-renowned Cape Floral Kingdom. A new restaurant and garden room will serve local South African food, grown and produced with integrity and harvested with flavors intact. The new offering includes an expanded pool and bar, a rooftop bar with views of the gardens and Helderberg mountains, and a Wellness Spa and Cape Herbal Bath House set in the wild-landscaped garden. Guided immersive experiences will be available exclusively to guests—such as guided vineyard and farm tours, walks and bike rides, and craft sessions—along with a dedicated, nature-inspired kids’ area and program.

“Our farm and hotel will be an immersive place of peace and connection. Simple and timeless, with elegant comfort that never shouts. Set in a magnificent wild Cape garden, it’ll be a more personal, more encompassing expression of our family’s vision,” said Mariota Enthoven, who lives on the farm and is leading the project.

Prioritizing regenerative farming and celebrating locality, Spier Wine Farm offers several dining options to taste the flavors of South Africa. The Manor House presents intimate food and wine pairings through the estate's award-winning vintages alongside farm-fresh dishes. At Vadas Smokehouse & Bakery, guests can savor slow-cooked meats and artisanal sourdough bread, both prepared using ethically sourced, local produce. The Picnickery allows visitors to enjoy the farm's scenic settings with ready-to-eat options and seasonal ingredients from Spier's own food garden. Utilizing biodynamic and organic farming practices across various vineyards, the regenerative farming approach Spier prioritizes creates healthy soil and high-quality grapes for wine production. Wine enthusiasts can explore the estate's renowned vintages at the Tasting Room by the Spier Dam, where wines from the Signature, Seaward, Creative Block, and 21 Gables ranges reflect the terroir of the Cape Winelands.

Spier Wine Farm's commitment to South African art is a cornerstone of its brand identity and mission to give back to the community. Comprising over 3,200 contemporary Southern African artworks, the collection serves as a living gallery across the farm. The Creative Block project, which invites artists to create works on blank blocks, creates an accessible space for both artists and collectors alike while providing a respected platform and vital income for emerging and established artists. Outdoor mosaic installations across the farm, such as the Spier Mosaic Kraal and Uthomi, represent Spier's investment in artisan development through its apprenticeship program.
